From Thursday, August 29 to Saturday, September 14, 2024, the multinational air exercise “Tarang Shakti 24” is being held at Jodhpur Air Base, India.
After the acceptance of the request for participation in the exercise, by the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff (HAFGS), Lieutenant General (I) Demosthenes Grigoriadis, the Hellenic Air Force, participates with an echelon of 4 F-16 Block 52+ Advanced aircraft and equivalent personnel of the 336th Squadron from the 116th Combat Wing, who were flown to India by 2 C-130 aircraft.
It is noted that the Indian Air Force had accepted the HAFGS’ invitation and participated for the first time in the “HNIOHOS 23” exercise with Su-30 aircraft.
In addition to India and Greece, Australia, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, Bangladesh, Singapore, and Thailand are participating in the exercise.
According to a relevant announcement by the Hellenic Air Force General Staff (HAFGS), the purpose of the exercise is the cooperation of the participants in a demanding multilateral environment, with the aim of upgrading the interoperability between the participants through the exchange of experiences and know-how.
F-16, Rafale, Sukhoi, A-10, F-18, and Mitsubishi F-2 fighters will practice air combat objects, with the F-16s, including the Greek ones, mainly taking on the role of aggressors, as this type of fighter is the backbone of the Pakistani air force.
