Today, during the Eurosatory exhibition in Paris, Pierre Eric Pommellet, CEO of Naval Group, and Tassos Rozolis, President of SEKPY, celebrated Naval Group Hellas’ membership to SEKPY at the Hellenic Pavilion.

As announced, this is an important milestone, two years after Naval Group signed its very first contract with a Greek company for the production of the Greek FDI frigates.

The formal membership of Naval Group to SEKPY, through Naval Group Hellas, is a another step in the group’s cooperation with the Hellenic industry, which started in 2008 when the company was established in the country, and came to fruition with the Hellenic Industrial Participation plan launched in 2022 at the start of the FDI program for the Hellenic Navy.

In this context, Naval Group signed in June 2022 the first key contracts and cooperation agreements. Since then, the group has expanded considerably the involvement of Greek industrial partners in its global supply chain, for the FDI frigates program, both for the Hellenic Navy and the French Navy, but also for other Naval Group-related programs, international future tenders and through the R&D projects.

Naval Group Hellas was established in March 2023 to strengthen Naval Group’s involvement and footprint in Greece.

Today, more than 100 purchase orders have been signed with 30 Greek companies for their participation in Naval Group’s programs: SALAMIS SHIPYARDS (pre-outfitted hull blocks for Hellenic and French FDI), MALLIONDA (piping and electrical works in Lorient shipyard), METKA and MEVACO (mechanical equipment), AKMON, SSMART, PRISMA, MAREL and SIMON TECHNOLOGIES (electronic equipment), EMMIS, KASSIDIARIS and KAFKAS (electrical equipment), FARAD (HVAC equipment), VIKING NORDSAFE HELLAS and MARITA HELLAS (rigid hull inflatable boats and safety equipment).

The Hellenic industry daily demonstrates its high level of skills and its ability to timely provide very high-quality equipment and services.

Naval Group Hellas is hiring Greek engineers who benefit from a comprehensive transfer of know-how in fields such as naval architecture or combat management system. Once the FDI frigates have been delivered in Greece, Naval Group’s Greek personnel will participate in the maintenance of the ships in cooperation with Hellenic companies.
