The US Army received the first M10 Booker light armored fighting vehicle during a formal ceremony on April 18, 2024, at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland.
The US Army’s newest and most modern armored fighting vehicle will begin operational trials with the 82nd Airborne Division, which will last several months.
The first operational batch of M10 Bookers is expected to be delivered in the summer of 2025, and to date, three M10 Bookers have been delivered to the US Army.
In addition, the M10 will undergo testing over the next two years to ensure it meets US Army standards with the evaluation including reliability and maintenance exercises for fire and mobility.
Manufactured by General Dynamics Land Systems, the M10 Booker is a light armored fighting vehicle weighing approximately 40 tons, equipped with a 105 mm main gun, a 12.7 mm M2HB heavy machine gun, and an M240B 7.62 mm machine gun.
The system in question has an operational range of up to 560 km and can reach a maximum speed of 72 km/h, while two vehicles of the said type can be transported in a C-17 transport aircraft.
