Five years after imposing restrictions on arms exports to Turkey, Norway has decided to accept Ankara’s arms applications.
President Christodoulidis states he is determined and ready for decisions that will lead to the reunification of the Motherland.
The Republic of Cyprus gave its consent late on Saturday for the appointment of a special envoy from the United Nations, who will look into the prospect of resuming talks, in response to a request by the UN Secretary-General.
The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulidis, stated the above the day before yesterday in his speech in Astromeritis, in the context of the anti-occupation events of the Municipality of Morphou “Days in Memory of Morphou”.
Such a development, the appointment of an envoy who will focus on the prospect of resuming talks, will be an initial development in the right direction which may lead to more general positive developments for all parties involved in the Cyprus issue if the appropriate political will is expressed, he continued.
