Latvian authorities have called on citizens to turn their basements into air raid shelters, causing concern.
The National Intelligence Service has disclosed the way foreign services operate and infiltrate the country, according to its announcement.
The announcement states that investigations systematically carried out by the NIS, following information it collected, proved that the alleged “Maria T.”, who in recent years claimed to be a Greek photographer and owner of a handicraft and knitting shop in Athens, who acquired Greek citizenship in 2018, is actually the foreign national “Irina A.S.” who took part in an undercover operation in our country.
The countdown to the said disclosure began with the detection of an attempt by a third country to access the data of deceased Greek citizens, an internationally recognized practice of the Intelligence Services of a certain country seeking to create the special category of spies known as “illegals”.
“Illegals” are recruited and trained by the Services of a specific foreign country, so as to be placed in target countries and undertake espionage action.
To protect their true identity, they falsify individual documents and use certificates derived from the details of stillborn babies or people who have passed away.
From the moment of their placement abroad, the illegals live and behave according to their “fabricated” background in order to protect their mission. The profile and activity of “Maria T.” refers directly to the special category of “illegals”.
The case that has just been disclosed by the NIS is typical of the mentality and action of the specific Services, as in order to create the identity and profile of “T.” they worked systematically for many years, exploiting certain persons, procedures, and agencies, so that finally the foreigner “Irina” lived and was known as the Greek “Maria”, deceiving even the people closest to her in Greece, who obviously did not know her true identity.
It is obvious that the action of “T.” would not be limited to the Greek territory. As an EU citizen, she could travel and work in several European countries. This is why the success of the NIS goes beyond national borders and concerns all Western countries in general.
