Greece expresses its practical support to the victims of the earthquake in Turkey after the deadly “strike of Enceladus”.

Shortly after 8:00 p.m. a team of 21 firefighters from the 1st Emergency Response Unit arrived in Incirlik, Turkey with two (2) rescue dogs, a tracked and a tow vehicle of the Unit.

The team is accompanied by an officer-engineer of the Fire Service specializing in building ruins, five doctors and rescuers from the National Center for Emergency Assistance, 3 journalists as well as the President of the Earthquake Planning and Protection Organization, Professor Efthymios Lekkas.

In fact, a team of the Special Department of Medical Disaster of the Emergency Response Unit consisting of 3 rescuers and 2 doctors, who are trained in dealing with casualties due to mass accidents and disasters, will operationally assist the Unit in sending rescue aid to the regions of Turkey affected by the earthquake.

The mission departed at 17:07 on a C-130 from Elefsina airport.

In a message on Twitter, the Minister of Civil Protection, Christos Stylianides, wrote that the Greek mission is ready to leave to provide aid to the earthquake victims in Turkey.
