The Swedish SAAB has received an order from the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) for the multi-role, man-portable Carl-Gustaf® M4 weapon, making Denmark the 15th customer for the M4 version.
Deliveries of the system will take place within 2022.
According to the manufacturer, this recoilless, man-portable anti-tank missile launcher increases the user’s tactical flexibility, built to meet modern warfare requirements. It is compatible with advanced fire control systems and can fire using specialized high-explosive ammunition.

“We are ready to supply Denmark with Carl-Gustaf M4. The user-focused design of the Carl-Gustaf M4 will ensure the Danish Forces that they will have what they need, when they need it,” says Görgen Johansson, head of Saab’s business area Dynamics.
The Danish Armed Forces have been using Carl-Gustaf, which is designated Dysekanon in the country, since the 1970s.
Today, the Carl Gustaf is in service in more than 40 countries. Among the users of this weapon is the Hellenic Army, which in 1995 received about 2,000 M2 weapons as a donation from the reserves of the German Army.
These weapons were delivered without ammunition and in order to utilize them operationally, in November 1999, two orders were placed for HEAT-551 anti-tank ammunition with a piercing capacity of 600 mm rolled homogeneous armor (RHA).
