The Hellenic Air Force (HAF) invites interested economic bodies to technical dialogue for the conclusion of a contract for the “follow-on support” of upgraded avionics systems and related equipment of F-4E PI 2000 fighters.
In 1997, an upgrading program of 39 F-4E fighters at the level of F-4E PI 2000 was signed, which was implemented in 36 aircraft due to three losses. The upgraded Phantoms are capable of launching AIM-120 AMRAAM medium-range air-to-air missiles and utilizing the Litening target pod. Their maintenance is becoming increasingly difficult for the personnel of the 338th Combat Wing due to their advanced age.
The relevant invitation was posted yesterday on “Diavgeia” (at 11:16:56 am) and you can read it HERE.
