Exercise “TASOS MARKOU” | Mechanized Infantry Brigade Offensive – Photos

As part of the exercise “NIKITIS-DIMITRA 2021”, the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade participated in an exercise at the level of Tactical Group of Tank Squadron, codenamed “TASOS MARKOY”. 

This was a dual action exercise and focused on the offensive scenario for defensive line breakdown. For the scenario execution, a Tactical Group was deployed on an advanced line of defence, supported by its support means. The offensive was carried out by a force consisting of a Tactical Group of Tank Squadron and Mechanized Infantry. 

The action was supported by two Mi 35 helicopters and the Brigade Units, with 155 mm howitzers and 120 mm mortars. In addition, the offensive was supported by the Logistics of the Brigade.

The exercise was attended by the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Demokritos Zervakis, and the Deputy Chief, Lieutenant General Costas Chrysiliou. During the exercise, the high level of training and readiness as well as the high morale of the participants were noted.
