With the risk of multiple hybrid attacks on critical sectors for Britain’s infastructure, as well as on large businesses by Russian hackers more evident than ever, a NATO conference on cyber security is being held in London today Monday.

Russia is poised to launch a wave of cyber attacks on Britain, senior minister Pat McFadden will warn at a NATO cyber security conference in London today, a day before a meeting in Brussels on the war situation in Ukraine.

Vladimir Putin is willing and able to launch a “destabilizing and debilitating” cyber strike on the UK, Pat McFadden will say, as reported by ERT.

The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster will say that there is an imminent risk of a Russian cyber attack on British infrastructure and businesses that could “shut down the power grid” and hit the economy.

Addressing a NATO cyber defense conference in London on Monday, he will add that over the past year, the Russian military and “informal army of cybercriminals and hacktivists” not only stepped up their attacks, but expanded their targets to a number of NATO members and partners.

In the same vein, Work and Pensions Secretary Liz Kendall stated on Sunday that NATO is engaged in a covert cyber war with Russia.
