North Korea’s losses in the Russia-Ukraine war are heavy, as more than 1,000 North Korean soldiers have been killed or injured…
On the occasion of the meeting of the Defence Ministers of the NATO member countries, Britain announced today that it will head together with Latvia a coalition of countries responsible for organizing the delivery of thousands of drones to Ukraine.
During his January visit to Kiev, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced an increase in British aid, which includes a package of 230 million euros to provide thousands of military drones to the Ukrainian Army.
This will be done mainly through the said coalition, which will be led by London and Riga, British Defence Secretary Grant Shapps explained today, before attending a meeting of his counterparts in Brussels. In this context, Britain will organize the production, including the one by British industries, of drones on a large scale and at affordable prices, as the Ministry of Defence explained in a statement.
The aim is mainly to produce FPV (First person view) drones, which have proven particularly effective in the field after the Russian invasion, London explained. Equipped with virtual reality goggles, their operators can see images directly from the field, as if they were inside the drone.
On the occasion of today’s session, the British Minister of Defence is expected to meet with the counterparts of the 13 NATO members, including France and Sweden, a candidate country for membership, to sign an agreement on two programs.
These programs aim to increase the production of ammunition and missiles to replenish Western stockpiles and increase aid to Ukraine.
