Ukraine’s parliament has extended its current martial law and mobilization for at least another three months until early November as expected, Ukrainian media reported yesterday.

A majority of members of the body approved the bills tabled by President Volodymyr Zelensky’s government. Theoretically, the two measures would expire on August 12 if they were not renewed.

According to CNN Greece, martial law was imposed and conscription was ordered after Russia’s armed forces invaded in February 2022.

Since then, Ukrainians subject to conscription – all males in the 18-60 age range – have been banned from leaving the territory, except in exceptional circumstances.
