Turkey closed its border with Greece and Bulgaria on Wednesday March 18 due to the COVID-19, according to a statement issued by the Turkish Interior Ministry.

Sources cited by Turkish media say that due to the coronavirus, entrance and exit from and to Greece is forbidden from Pazarkule (Kastanies) and Ypsala (Kipoi). The same applies to the Turksish-Burgaria border.

The same sources say that the routes to and from Greece and the Greek islands have also stopped. However, there will be no restriction on vehicles carrying cargo for medical and commercial purposes.
