The stand of the Cypriot company SWARMLY LTD at the International Defence and Security Exhibition EUROSATORY 2024 has attracted notable attention.
Participating in this exhibition for the second consecutive time, this year’s presence of the company is an impressive continuation of the previous one.
Being the largest manufacturer of medium-sized UAVs on the European Continent with export activity in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Swarmly joined this year’s EUROSATORY both with the already-known, combat-proven (Ukraine) series of H Poseidon Unmanned Aerial Systems and their T20 Kipseli C2 transport truck as well as with new systems and solutions that redefine drone warfare on the battlefield.
To start with, the company presented the short-range loitering munition “X22 Ares FPV LM”. Ares is a single-use, precision-strike guided weapon system, which can carry a variety of payloads, including thermobaric, armor-piercing, high-explosive, anti-ship and anti-UAV munitions.
As can be seen in the relevant photo, it is a quadcopter system with FPV (First Person View) guidance, which communicates with its operator via a downlink Command and Control (C2) repeater that can be integrated into the NEMESIS C4ISR solution (analyzed below).
To achieve its mission, the X22 needs the assistance of the H10/12 Poseidon UAS to acquire, monitor and confirm mobile or fixed targets.
X22 Ares FPV LM technical characteristics:
- Width: 298 mm
- Length: 298 mm
- Propeller diameter: 10”
- Maximum operational range: 25 km
- Payload weight: up to 4 kg
- Endurance: 25 minutes
- Maximum speed: up to 150 km / h
- Cruising speed: 70 – 90 km/h
The system in question is not only distinguished by its combat-proven (over 50,000 hours) communication system, which allows two X22s to be operated simultaneously by two operators in spite of a saturated jamming environment, but also the successful confirmation of targets in the field (over 3,000) in the last 12 months of hostilities in Ukraine.

NEMESIS C4ISR tactical solution
In addition to the above, Swarmly truly innovated with the creation of the NEMESIS C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance) solution, which, according to company officials, comes to redefine the battlefield.
Essentially, the interconnection of the company’s weapon systems through a fully integrated command and information network led to a real redefinition of network-centric warfare.
Users’ understanding of the NEMESIS architecture enables them to turn their information advantage into a catalytic increase in combat power primarily at the tactical and operational levels of warfare.
An integral link of this architecture is the ATAK (Android Team Awareness Kit) software, a geospatial Android smartphone application for tactical situational awareness of decision-makers. This program enables precision targeting, situational awareness, navigation and data sharing.
The NEMESIS C4ISR system enables operators to have a realistic view of the battle space, the possibility of immediate information, and the possibility of reaction and coordination with the fighting units and with the superior and subordinate echelons of command.
The operational environment characteristics and its estimated configuration in the future also determine the means that should be used.
On this basis, the company sought to network-centrically interconnect all its products – B5 HYDRA USV, H10/H12 Poseidon UAS, X22 ARES FPV LM – offering a holistic solution for immediate response to modern threats and requirements.

At this point, it is worth mentioning the operational improvements in the company’s existing systems, since the technical team is not complacent, but tries to keep up with the daily needs that arise in the field.
The hull of the B5 HYDRA USV Unmanned Surface Vehicle will be lengthened to 8.3 meters for dual-use tinted missions, while the Kipseli transport vehicle has secured full operational autonomy for personnel of up to 72 hours.
