SCYTALYS S.A., a company specializing in interoperability systems, announced the signing of a major contract by the Canadian Armed Forces for the development, installation, integration, and follow-on support of at least 5 portable Tactical Link-22 Data Link Systems, which will form part of an Integrated Command, Control, and Communications System.

The Program, named TIC3 Air Deployable TDL GES LoE4 (Tactical Integrated Command, Control and Communication Deployable Tactical Data Link, Ground Entry Station, for the Line of Effort 4), is intended for use by the Royal Canadian Air Force.

According to the related announcement, the contract, amounting to 9.7 million dollars, is a critical step in enhancing Canada’s Tactical Data Link (TDL) capabilities and supporting the synthesis and exchange of recognized aerial imagery (RAP) through modern Link-22 networks.

The TIC3 Air program is a comprehensive initiative that provides advanced Communication and Data Link solutions to the Canadian Armed Forces.

A durable and secure Data Link system will routinely interconnect data systems on air, surface, subsea, and ground platforms, ensuring uninterrupted and secure communications throughout North America and abroad.

Main points of the TIC3 Air Deployable TDL GES LoE4 Program

The Mobile Ground Stations will utilise the latest technological developments of the Link-22 protocol, providing Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) communications, enhancing Situational Awareness, Air Surveillance and Air Defence capabilities. The System will be integrated into existing and future Canadian military infrastructure and networks.

The Royal Canadian Air Force will use the ULS (Universal Link System), a product of SCYTALYS S.A., to ensure seamless interoperability and control of the Link-22 Data Link system. In addition, to effectively oversee the Link-22 Data Link system tactical picture, the Royal Canadian Air Force will use SCYTALYS S.A.’s Mission Command and Control Information Management System (MIMS C2).

Further on, SCYTALYS S.A. will offer comprehensive training programs to Royal Canadian Air Force personnel for its systems operators and support technicians, covering their development, installation, operation, and maintenance, to achieve proficiency in the use of the new systems.

After the systems are delivered to the Royal Canadian Air Force, SCYTALYS S.A. will provide ongoing support for a minimum of five years to ensure the company’s systems are up to date with the requirements of modern military communications protocols.

SCYTALYS S.A.’s support program will include regular updates, upgrades, maintenance, and technical support to address any issues that may arise. Thus, the company guarantees the continuous efficiency and reliability of the Data Link system during its operational use.

The program involves the close cooperation of SCYTALYS S.A. with the Department of Public Services and Procurement of Canada (PSPC) as well as the Department of National Defence (DND) of Canada. This collaboration will contribute to the successful development, acceptance, and deployment of the tactical Data Link system.

It is worth noting that, among other Data Link provider companies, SCYTALYS successfully participated in this tender process. Among competitors at an international level, SCYTALYS managed to select and win this important contract.
