Foreign minister Nikos Dendias will meet with the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al-Saud in Athens on Tuesday January 4, according to the Foreign Ministry’s announcement.
This visit, the second by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia in Athens in less than a year (he had previously participated in the Friendship Forum in February 2021), follows the visit of the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, together with the Minister of Defence Nikos Panagiotopoulos, in Saudi Arabia last April and of course the visit of the Prime Minister last October.
Bilateral relations in the fields of defence, economy, and investment, as well as cooperation in international organizations, are expected to be the focus of the discussions. Developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Gulf region are also expected to be examined in depth.
There will be a private meeting of the two ministers at 12:00 followed by extended talks and a working lunch. Joint statements to the press are expected to take place at 13:30.
