The Minister of Defence, Vassilis Palmas, participated in the “Schuman Security and Defence Forum 2024”, held on May 28 and 29, 2024 in Brussels.
In addition to the member states of the European Union (EU), the Forum was attended by delegations from more than 60 partner countries and organizations as well as Think Tanks and distinguished academics.
As stated in a relevant announcement by the Ministry of Defence, the opening of the event was announced by EU’s High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Affairs, Mr. Josep Borell, noting that the aim of the Forum is to exchange views on common challenges and to discuss ways to strengthen partnerships in view of better cooperation with the aim of creating and consolidating conditions of peace and security.
On the sidelines of the Forum, the Minister held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Defence of Egypt, Major General Khaled Mugawer.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on issues of bilateral cooperation and current geopolitical developments were discussed.
