MILTECH Hellas SA and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) signed today a cooperation agreement in the context of the implementation of the overall enhancement and upgrading of the Greek air defence systems project.
The choice of MILTECH comes to confirm the particularly positive assessment of its work by the international defence sector industry. MILTECH’s contribution to the project will concern the vital sector of electronics, the wiring of consoles and other quorums, as well as the system integration sector.

The common goal of the cooperation of the two sides is to supply the Hellenic Armed Forces with IAI’s new system, BARAX MX. It is an advanced, multi-level air defence system designed to deal with any aerial threat, such as aircraft, UAVs, and missiles.
The system has three types of missiles with ranges of up to 35, 70, and 150 km, offering flexibility and guaranteed efficiency.
This particular type of missile is available in three versions, which are expected to fully cover the operational requirements of the Greek Air Defence in terms of range (small, medium, and large). BARAX MX, when fully developed, will be able to counter any form of aerial threat such as ballistic missiles, aircraft, and non-aircraft manned aircraft.
The agreement between the two companies is an extremely positive development, as a key equipment program of the country’s Armed Forces will be implemented to a large extent by Greek defence industries. In fact, this fact is expected to upgrade in the near future the role that our country—and Greek defence companies such as MILTECH—will be able to play in the planned European anti-aircraft “dome.”
