Memorial Service for the 226th Infantry Battalion Heroes

A memorial service was held in honour of all 51 heroes of the 226th Infantry Battalion who fell or went missing during the 1974 Turkish invasion. The service took place in Larnaca at the site of the Battalion Heroes Monument. Colonel Theodoros Zonias pointed out the battalion’s action during the military operations of 1974, while the President of the Reserve Officers and Soldiers Association of the 226th Infantry Battalion and the Mayor of Larnaca attended the service. 

After the memorial service, wreaths were laid and the National Anthem was sung.
