North Korea’s losses in the Russia-Ukraine war are heavy, as more than 1,000 North Korean soldiers have been killed or injured…
The absolute condemnation of the Iranian attack on Israel and the need to de-escalate the tension in the wider region were emphasized by the Ministers of European Affairs of MED 9, who gathered in Cyprus as part of a preparatory session for the meeting at the level of heads of state and government next week in Paphos.
The Ministers demand the respect of the resolutions of the Security Council of the UN, especially for Lebanon, so that both Lebanese and Israelis can return safely to their homes.
In particular, Marilena Raouna, Minister of European Affairs of Cyprus, stated that the sovereignty of both Israel and Lebanon should be guaranteed, and for this reason, the efforts of France and the USA should be actively supported. Cyprus has stood as the solid anchor of the EU in the region and part of the solution to the regional challenges, she added.
Indicative of the dynamics that the MED9 meeting has acquired at the level of leaders, but also of the criticality of the days, is that King Abdullah of Jordan will also participate in the Paphos meeting.
