The preparations of the warring parties in Libya are feverish, both on political and diplomatic levels as well as on ground. The Libyan National Army (LNA) and the Government of National Accord (GNA) are both sending reinforcements to the central Libyan front.
On July 28, a video posted on social media showed a phalanx of trucks possibly belonging to Russian Wagner mercenaries moving from al-Jufra to the city of Sirte.

In addition to fortifications and manpower, Libya24 television channel reported that the LNA has developed S-200 air defence systems near Sirte.
The previous day, July 28, the Russian Federal News Agency reported that the Libyan National Army had also reinforced its coastal defence by deploying Rubezh E units equipped with P-15M Termit missiles in a coastal area.
On its part, the Government of National Accord (GNA) wants to occupy the unresisting cities of Sirte and al-Jufra and sets the withdrawal of LNA forces from central Libya as a demand for a ceasefire.
At the same time, Turkey continues to send hundreds of Syrian mercenaries to Libya to support the GNA, while supplying it with logistics, landing its aircraft directly at Al-Watiya air base.
