METLEN and Iveco Defence Vehicles (IDV) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), establishing an exclusive collaboration for their joint participation and cooperation in the forthcoming programme announced by the Greek Ministry of Defence.
The programme involves the renewal of the existing fleet of protected and unprotected military trucks of the three branches of the Hellenic Armed Forces.
The objective of the agreement between IDV and METLEN, through its recently announced expanded defence hub in Volos, is to combine their expertise and experience to deliver state-of-the-art defence solutions to the Hellenic Armed Forces and, potentially, to other European Armed Forces.
This strategic partnership with IDV underscores METLEN’s increasing role in the defence sector, leveraging its longstanding expertise in complex metal constructions and its strong track record in supporting high-tech defence programmes, including armour welding for advanced military vehicle solutions.
METLEN remains committed to investing in cutting-edge defence manufacturing, ensuring long-term sustainability and resilience for the Hellenic Armed Forces. The MoU further reinforces IDV’s central role in the European defence ecosystem as a key player in the land defence sector.
The strategic collaboration between the two parties aligns with broader European efforts to strengthen defence autonomy and industrial self-sufficiency.
Through this MoU, METLEN and IDV are creating the conditions to further enhance Greece’s defence production capabilities, reinforcing the country’s industrial footprint in European defence initiatives.
