Iraq | Rockets fired at US base
Defence Redefined
10/06/2021

Five rockets were fired at Balad air base north of Baghdad tonight, two of them near a US subcontracting company, a security official told AFP.

“There have been no casualties or damage,” said an unnamed official at the base, where Americans maintain Iraqi F-16 fighter jets.

The air base in the city of Balad is often the target of rocket attacks launched, according to Washington, by pro-Iranian armed groups.
