During the IDEX 2025 international defence and security exhibition, being held in the United Arab Emirates, South Africa-based MILKOR is showcasing the 380 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV).

The MILKOR 380, classified as a MALE (Medium Altitude Long Endurance) UAV, is capable of carrying an array of weapons for fire support missions, including THALES multi-role rockets. It is also equipped for surveillance operations with advanced systems such as cameras, infrared sensors, laser guidance systems, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), and Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (iSAR) for maritime monitoring. Additionally, it is compatible with countermeasure systems from other manufacturers, offering customers significant operational flexibility.

Technical characteristics of the MILKOR 380 UAV:

  • Length: 9 m
  • Wingspan: 18.6 m
  • Maximum take-off weight (MTOW): 1500 kg
  • Payload: 220 kg (535 kg with fuel)
  • Durability: 30 hours
  • Range: 4000 km at 80 knots (KIAS)
  • Engine: 4-cylinder turbocharged Rotax 915 iS
  • Maximum cruising speed: 250 km/h
  • Flight ceiling: 30,000 feet

The company executives stated to DEFENCE ReDEFiNED that alongside with the purchase of the UAV up to 12 months of training for drone operators are included as well as a control centre that can operate autonomously (for a limited time) without an external power source.

During IDEX 2025, the company also presented the MILKOR 360 control unit. The MILKOR 360 requires three personnel to operate and is intended to provide vital information to drone operators.

Among other things, it allows UAV operators to gain insight into a variety of issues, from damage to system problems, by planning flight patterns for the UAV to navigate without constant operator guidance.

The purchase price of the MILKOR 380 was not disclosed, but the company noted that the system is already available for purchase and production having conducted a multitude of tests including  long endurance flights.
