The “IASON-2020” exercise, which started last Monday, was successfully completed last night.

The exercise is part of the annual military cooperation program between the Republic of Cyprus and the State of Israel and was held within the Nicosia FIR, with the participation of the National Guard and Israeli Defence Forces (IDF).

During the “IASON-2020” exercise the joint training of the National Guard Air Defence and the Israeli Air Force personnel took place, as well as an exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of tactical air operations.

In the context of the execution of the exercise scenarios, the high level of training, cooperation, operational readiness and professionalism of the armed forces of the two countries were noted.

In addition, the joint exercise with the Israeli Defence Forces, which are among the most modern and well-equipped in the world, along with the support and coordination of air operations from Paphos Air Base significantly contribute to the upgrade of operational readiness and capabilities of the National Guard.
