From Monday 11 to Wednesday 27 September 2023, the Hellenic Armed Forces participated in the Multinational Exercise “NOBLE BLUEPRINT 23”. The said exercise was held at the Novo Selo Training Area (NSTA) in Bulgaria under the NATO Multinational Force Enhanced Vigilance Activity Battlegroup Bulgaria (NATO eVA BG BGR), in the context of the wider planning of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) regarding the international cooperation of the Hellenic Armed Forces.
“NOBLE BLUEPRINT 23” is a CPX – LFX (Command Post Exercise – Live Fire Exercise) exercise aiming to train the participants on the procedures of rapid deployment and maneuver of forces at the level of a Company Group, while providing support to Artillery and Administrative Departments.
According to a relevant announcement, forces from Bulgaria, the USA, Italy, Montenegro, Albania, and Skopje participated in the exercise. The latter is the second exercise of this type being held in a short period of time. On the Greek side, the exercise was held with the participation of 1 Anti-Tank Platoon of the Special Composition of the Hellenic Force of Bulgaria – 2, with which Greece takes part in the NATO eVA BG BGR.
The Distinguished Visitors Day (DV DAY) took place on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 and was attended by the Commanders of the US Naval Forces Europe – Africa (US NAVEUR/NAVAF) and the Allied Joint Force Command Naples (JFC NAPLES), Admiral Stuart B. Munsch, the Chief of the Armed Forces of Bulgaria, Admiral Emil Eftimov, and the Commander of the II Mechanized Infantry Division, Major General Aristidis Iliopoulos.
It is pointed out that the participation of the Hellenic Armed Forces in the NATO Multinational Force eVA BG BGR aims to strengthen the defence arrangement, cohesion, and deterrence capacity of the Alliance as well as to project the forces’ capabilities in an inter-Alliance context, strengthening the role of Greece as a security and stability pillar in the region and beyond.
