Personnel of the Special Warfare Command of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) participated in Sniper Workshop “NEPTUNE – 23” held in Poland from Monday 11 to Friday 15 September 2023. The said military activity was organized in the context of the planning of HNDGS regarding the participation of the Hellenic Armed Forces in international military activities. 

The Hellenic Armed Forces participated with 2 pairs of snipers of the Special Warfare Command, who distinguished themselves in terms of their performance among the participants from a total of 9 countries.

According to a relevant announcement, the aim of Sniper Workshop “NEPTUNE – 23” is the exchange of know-how, as well as the updating of tactics, techniques, and the use of new equipment by the snipers of the participating countries, which all constitute an opportunity to demonstrate the high level of training and professionalism of the country’s Special Operation Forces.

The distinctions of the Greek snipers in Sniper Workshop “NEPTUNE – 23” are a continuation of their high-standard performances in the international military sniper competition “European Best Sniper Team Competition 2022”, during which they ranked 1st and 4th among 36 teams from 18 countries.

In this way, the extremely high operational level of the country’s Special Operations Forces is demonstrated alongside the combat capability of the Hellenic Armed Forces in the modern operational environment and their strong deterrent capability.
