Yesterday, Greece was proclaimed the winner of the European Best Sniper Team Competition 2022, organized by the Joint Multinational Readiness Center of the 7th Army Training Command, at the Hohenfels Training Area in Germany.
Thirty-six sniper teams from 18 Allied and partner countries competed head-to-head for the title of Best Sniper Team in Europe. Over the course of seven days and four nights, competing teams participated in a set of 10 events designed to test every aspect of the sniper teams’ effectiveness and adaptability.
According to Jeremiah Inman, Commander of US Army Europe and Africa, the multinational competitions in question are about building relationships and sharing skills among participants as – upon completion of the competition – all contestants will have acquired more technical and tactical proficiency as well as an enhanced sense of collaboration and interoperability.
Following the Greek winning team, the next four winning teams came from Latvia, Italy, another team from Greece, and Slovenia.
Sniper teams competed in aerial shots, firing at moving targets, high-angle shots, trench warfare, unknown distance shots, scouting, night target detection, and attended a pistol training course.
