From November 11 to 19, 2023, within the framework of the Bilateral Defence Cooperation Program between the Republic of Cyprus and Armenia, the National Guard and the Armed Forces of Armenia co-organized the special operations exercise “SILVER SPEAR – 2023”.
According to a relevant announcement, the purpose of the exercise was the participants’ joint training in special operations and included the execution of combat shots, climbing, and casualty care. The main operational scenario of the exercise examined the design and execution of an immediate offensive action.
The exercise is considered to be particularly beneficial, as it highlights the excellent relations that have been developed between the 2 countries, contributing to interoperability and the exchange of know-how at the operational level, elements necessary for the execution of joint missions by the Special Forces.
