Erdogan | “When Greece and the Greek Cypriots abandon their ill-mannered behavior, there will be a fair agreement.”
“When Greece and the Greek Cypriots abandon their ill-mannered behavior in the Eastern Mediterranean, we believe that a fair agreement can be reached,” said Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan.
Speaking to his party’s parliamentary group, the Turkish president said that in the event that Greece and the Greek Cypriots abandon their ill-mannered behavior in the Eastern Mediterranean, we believe it is possible to reach a fair agreement soon.
He also said that “the way out of the EU crisis is also going through here. The channels of diplomacy and compromise must be opened to remove the uncertainty that arose in our region after the elections in America. With this in mind, we will continue to strengthen our presence in the field of action, as well as to operate effectively through the channels of diplomacy. We want to act in the new era together with all the states of the region, whose peoples we see as brothers and themselves as friendly states. We have no hidden or overt prejudice against anyone, we have no hostile or obscure affairs.”
The Turkish President thanked the former Minister of Finance, Berat Albayrak, for the provision of important services in Turkey, while he spoke of significant success and benefit for the country, from the two seismic research vessels and the three drilling rigs “at a time when there were global financial problems”. He added that Albayrak himself had asked to be released due to health problems. “We, accepting this request, have appointed our friend Lutfi Elvan as Minister of Finance. I wish success to our new Minister of Finance,” he said.
The Turkish President described the scenario around the reorganization as “empty of content” and “news that is made in offices”. “Tayyip Erdogan is not acting on the basis of what the bureaucratic writers are doing. Leave it at that. Have you seen us take such a step in the last 18 years? We have not done and we will not do so. We have reached this position by fighting these writers, he said, adding that “any kind of news beyond that, gossip, rumors, is a betrayal of the nation.”
