Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has announced the launch of new military operations aiming to clear and possibly occupy territory on the country’s southern border.

In particular, after the Cabinet meeting, Erdogan announced that his country would “soon” launch new military operations along its southern border, with the aim of establishing 30-kilometer security zones to deal with the “terrorist threats” from these areas.

“The main target of these operations will be the areas that are the centers of attacks in our country and the security zones,” Erdogan said, without giving further details.

According to the Turkish President, the operations will begin as soon as the military and intelligence services have completed their preparations.
