These are not directed images from a film shooting. They are Chinese soldiers stationed in Tibet, perfecting their driving.
Chinese soldiers must pass a series of difficult tests that require full timing and precision driving with trucks in order to pass their road test.
One of these tests is to drive backwards for 100 meters, keeping an “S” course all the way. In another test, drivers must reverse so as to break a small balloon (20cm diameter) with the additional metal rod in the center of the rear of the vehicle.
Local media report that these tests prepare the soldiers for driving on harsh road conditions.
