The likelihood of a complete lifting of the US arms embargo against the Republic of Cyprus is mentioned in a relevant announcement of the Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As noted, the possibility of a complete lifting of the US embargo was referred to in two separate terms:
First, the institutional process to address the issue is about to begin without, of course, prejudging the outcome of US internal procedures.
Secondly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus considers that the Republic has now fulfilled all the conditions of the “Eastern Mediterranean Security and Energy Partnership Act of 2019” passed by the US Congress on the proposal of Senators Menendez and Rubio, therefore it expects a positive outcome.
