Thales will showcase the Combat Digital Platform at the Eurosatory 2022 exhibition, which promises fast processing of vast quantities of data, connectivity and speed of reaction.
The Combat Digital Platform has been designed, according to the company’s announcement, to offer the necessary support to the ground forces that are called to improve their mode of operation based on the requirements of the modern battlefield. As the number of factors to consider increases, digital transformation and connectivity are essential. The said Thales platform promises fast processing of vast quantities of data, speed in decisions made and in data transmission as well as strike capabilities.
Using artificial intelligence and connectivity at all levels, from command center to front-line vehicles, the system shares real-time information between sensors and weapon systems under operator supervision. In this way, through connectivity, it seeks to achieve the coordination required between the sensors deployed by land vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and dismounted infantry. It also supports conventional battle management systems that operate according to NATO standards.
The architecture of the Combat Digital Platform allows for advanced connectivity services using any combination of software-defined radios, satcoms and LTE mobile networks. The system consists of, among others, a 3×3 armored vehicle, a command and control center and a machine gun. More details on the system’s technical characteristics will be given at the international exhibition Eurosatory 2022 in Paris, in which DEFENCE ReDEFiNED will participate.
