The first two-day training/exercise of 30 members of the Civil Defence Rescue Teams from the 5 Regional Directorates of Civil Defence of Larnaca, Nicosia, Limassol, Paphos, and Famagusta as well as of personnel of the Ambulance Service was successfully completed.
The said training/exercise focused on the Procedures and Guidelines that, according to the International Organization INSARAG of the United Nations, must be followed in search and rescue operations.
The training was very demanding and difficult. It lasted two days and included theoretical lessons and a 24-hour exercise, while the participants spent the night at the training center of the Civil Defence of Larnaca.
A training team consisting of Volunteers of the Rescue Team of the Civil Defence of Larnaca, contributed to the success of the training.
At the end of the training, the feeling of satisfaction and pride prevailed and the participants are now ready to operate with the proverb “in unity, there is strength” being once again their beacon and guide since, wherever there’s a will, there’s a way.
