North Korea’s losses in the Russia-Ukraine war are heavy, as more than 1,000 North Korean soldiers have been killed or injured…
The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, received an invitation to meet with US President Joe Biden at the White House.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday (30/10) at 15:30 in the Oval Office and comes a few days after the conclusion of the first round of the strategic dialogue held with great success in Nicosia and a few months after the signing of a defense agreement with the US Pentagon.
This significant development reflects the weight that Cyprus has acquired for the USA and the upgraded strategic role attributed to it in Washington at an extremely critical juncture in the wider region.
Glaukos Clerides, the president of the Republic of Cyprus, last received an invitation to the White House in June 1996 during a meeting with then-President Bill Clinton.
