Cyprus | SPIKE LR2 missiles for the first time at the Independence Day Military Parade

At this year’s Independence Day Military Parade, the National Guard of the Republic of Cyprus is showcasing new equipment that enhances its firepower and combat effectiveness. 

In particular, for the first time this year, a SPIKE LR2 anti-tank platoon of the EuroSpike consortium is parading mounted on ENOK A.B. vehicles of the German company ACS. The SPIKE LR2 anti-tank missiles are the latest addition to the National Guard’s arsenal to enhance its anti-tank capabilities.

Technical characteristics of SPIKE LR2 missile:

  • Weight: 12.7 kg
  • Length: 1.17 meters
  • Caliber: 130 mm
  • Range: 5,500 meters from a ground launcher, up to 10,000 meters from a helicopter

The missile has a HEAT and multi-role warhead, while among others it features “Fire and forget,” “Fire and Observe,” and “Fire to Target Coordinates” modes. The missiles also feature electronic jamming protection systems to protect the electro-optical sensors, while they can be used to engage low-flying aerial targets.
