Finland became the 7th country in the world and the 6th in Europe to sign a bilateral security agreement with Ukraine.
According to Euronews, the said agreement will be valid for ten years and focuses on the provision of military aid and support by Helsinki to Kyiv.
Ukraine should join the EU and NATO, Alexander Stubb, President of Finland, stressed.
The signings in Helsinki came a day after President Zelenskiy decreed that the starting age for conscription was lowered from 27 to 25 to increase the number of those on the front.
The Ukrainian Prime Minister also announced that his country is very close to a security agreement with Tokyo, after the contacts he had with his Japanese counterpart.
There have been previous bilateral security agreements with the Netherlands, Canada, Italy, Denmark, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
