The two-week India-UAE joint military exercise ‘Desert Cyclone’ kicked off in Rajasthan. The exercise takes place with the participation of 45 personnel representing both countries.

It is held in Mahajan, Bhajan, and will last until January 15.

Troops from the Zayed First Brigade are participating on the part of the UAE. A battalion from the Mechanised Infantry Regiment mainly represents the Indian Army detachment comprising 45 personnel.

The exercise aims to enhance interoperability in sub-conventional operations including fighting in built-up areas (FIBUA) on desert or semi-desert terrain and deepen cooperation and interoperability between the participating forces during peacekeeping operations.

It will also foster cooperation and assist in sharing the best practices between the two countries.

Furthermore, the exercise signifies further strengthening of bonds of friendship and trust between India and the UAE, seeking to achieve common security objectives and foster bilateral relations between the two friendly nations.
