The “Military Cooperation Program (Greece-Jordan)” was signed at the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) for 2024 on Thursday, December 14, 2023, in the context of the international collaborations of the Hellenic Armed Forces with allied and friendly countries and in accordance with the planning of the HNDGS.
The Program was signed by the Director of the International Relations Directorate of the HNDGS, Brigadier Vasilios Tsami, and the Chief of the Financing and Programs Branch Department of Planning and Organization of the Jordanian Armed Forces, Colonel Hatem Aref Alharahsem.
The Military Cooperation Program 2024 includes 49 activities, of which 34 will take place in Greece and 15 in Jordan. The said activities concern, among others:
- Cooperation in operational training activities.
- Joint training of Special Forces – Special Operations Forces.
- Joint training in Mine Disposal – Improvised Explosive Devices.
- Participation in trainings of the Multinational Training Center for Peace Support Operations, the Center for Naval Deterrence Training, and the Operational Synthetic Training Squadron.
- Joint training using simulators.
- Participation in trainings of the Hellenic Armed Forces in the fields of Cyber Security and Military Intelligence.
- Exchange of experiences and lessons from the use of Air Defence Systems.
- Personnel exchange and visits to schools and military medical facilities.
- Personnel meetings and conversations on matters of mutual interest.
With the signing of this Program, the military cooperation and interoperability between the Hellenic Armed Forces of the two countries is further upgraded, contributing to the important role played by Greece and Jordan in ensuring stability and security in the wider region.
