At least five people were killed in an explosion at a missile factory in Ankara, the English-language newspaper Arab News reported yesterday, citing Al Arabiya.
At the same time, Hurriyet reports that the Turkish Ministry of Defence has announced that five workers have been killed and that an investigation has been launched into how the fatal accident happened.
Initial information states that the explosion took place in the dynamite manufacturing department and the first estimates are that some chemical reaction took place.
Ambulances and fire engines rushed to the scene, while windows of shops and houses in the surrounding area were shattered by the blast wave.
