The government of Armenia has sent Azerbaijan a proposal to resolve the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. The proposal of Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, entails the creation of a demilitarized zone around Nagorno-Karabakh with international guarantees.

Pashinyan first expressed the idea of a demilitarized zone around Nagorno-Karabakh on October 31 in Sochi, Russia, where he met with Russian President, Vladimir Putin, and Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev.

Speaking at a weekly cabinet meeting on February 15, Pashinyan said his country’s latest draft proposal had been forwarded to Azerbaijan and the OSCE Minsk Group, which is tasked with brokering talks between Baku and Yerevan.
