Slovenian based DAT-CON, a supplier of border security systems among others to Greece, Cyprus and Turkey was awarded by the Aerospace & Defense Review as the best provider of border security solutions.
DAT-CON, works closely with the EU and Frontex to provide border security systems for the emerging threats of illegal trade, illegal immigration and border breach for other illegal activities. The company designs and manufactures both systems with special sensors and the special software for data collection and analysis by security forces on land and sea borders.
The company from Slovenia has strengthened several countries with its systems and, according to the Aerospace & Defense Review, its systems cover 3000 km of European borders and 6000 km of non-European borders.
Furthermore, DAT-CON, cooperates with Cypriot companies, including SignalGeneriX. Among the systems for which it has partnered with SignalGeneriX is the Joint Rescue Coordination Center’s (JRCC) coastal surveillance system, with integrated thermal cameras and a portable radar system. It has also strengthened the Port Police with the observation and video surveillance system with thermal cameras for port security and vessel monitoring.
DAT-CON, also supplied the Hellenic Coast Guard with SUV-type surveillance vehicles fitted with thermal imaging cameras, while it also delivered mobile thermal imaging surveillance systems with integrated marine radars for control and surveillance for the needs of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
With regard to Turkey, it proceeded – through Frontex – to procure 10 mobile radar surveillance systems for coastal areas to combat illegal immigration and organized crime.
