One person has been killed and the fate of two others is unknown after an explosion at an Arsenal industry munitions factory in the city of Kazanlak, Bulgaria.
The factory was completely destroyed by the powerful explosion that rocked the city of Kazanlak, about 200 kilometers east of Sofia, in the morning.
According to APA MPA, a 55-year-old worker was hurled out of the building and was found dead later, while the fate of two women (43 and 53 years old) who were inside the factory and presumed dead is unknown.
A 43-year-old woman who was injured by the shock wave was taken to a hospital in the Bulgarian capital with a serious brain injury.
The cause of the explosion remains unclear, but prosecutor Todor Deyanov, who visited the area, told reporters that the accident was likely due to a violation of safety regulations regarding the handling of explosive materials.
