The Albanian Defence Ministry said on Saturday that two of its soldiers were injured, while trying to stop two Russians and a Ukrainian who tried to enter a military factory in central Albania.
The Ministry, in a statement sent to the media, said that three citizens with Russian and Ukrainian passports tried to enter the factory.
According to the Ministry’s statement, the officers guarding the factory reacted immediately, but during their efforts to stop the three foreign nationals, two of the soldiers were injured, adding that the health of the soldiers is stable.
The Ministry said the three foreign nationals were eventually arrested.
During communism, the Albanian Gramsh plant was used to produce the Russian-style AK 47 rifle.
According to the Ministry’s website, the plant now provides manufacturing services for the defence industry, without giving further details.
