The Turkish Ministry of Defence has announced that another AKSUNGUR unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has successfully completed its trials and joined the Turkish Navy.
Proposed armaments for the said UAV include TEBER-82 bombs, UMTAS anti-tank missiles with tandem warheads against explosive reactive armor, TEBER-81 bombs, MAM-L, Cirit and MAM-C missiles, HGK-3 munitions, KGK 82 and miniature bombs.
AKSUNGUR Technical Characteristics:
- Dimensions: Wing Span 24 m / Length 11.6 m
- Maximum Take-Off Weight: 3300 kg
- Dual configuration: ELINT and SIGINT Intelligence gathering with a 150kg Payload and a 24-hour endurance at 35 ft / Attack/Maritime Patrol Mission with a 750kg payload and 12-hour endurance at 25 ft
- Power Plant: Type PD-170 Dual Turbo Diesel / Power 2×170 HP
- Weapon Payload: 3 hardpoints on each wing with 500 kg, 300 kg, and 150 kg capacities
In addition, it can conduct anti-submarine operations due to the ability to support sonobuoy pods and Magnetic Anomalies Detectors (MAD).
