The CEO of the Israeli Chevron said that the energy crisis due to the Ukrainian issue brings the EastMed pipeline to the forefront once again. At the same time, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Ankara is ready to cooperate with Israel in the energy sector.

In particular, during the CERAWeek energy conference, Chevron CEO Michael Wirth said that the crisis in gas prices in Europe due to the Ukrainian issue is rekindling discussions about the EastMed. Thus, the pipeline connecting Israel with Cyprus and Greece is once again on the table, following the American nonpaper that was considered to have eliminated any project progress potential.

At the same time, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he believes that the visit of Israeli President Isaac Herzog to Turkey will be a turning point in the long-term strained relations between the two countries and that Ankara is ready to actively cooperate with Israel.
