Latvian authorities have called on citizens to turn their basements into air raid shelters, causing concern.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Greece has issued a directive prohibiting civilian aircraft from entering Ukrainian airspace, while due to danger it is recommended to avoid crossing the airspace at the Ukrainian-Russian border.
This was preceded by a briefing by the European Aviation Safety Agency due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The NOTAM of the Greek authority is valid for three months until May 24.
Earlier on Thursday morning, an Aegean flight from Athens to Moscow was forced to return, shortly before entering Russian airspace. According to the company, an order was given by the operational center due to risk in the area.
