The Cyprus Fire Service announced its participation in the online training program within the RESPOND-A project.
The RESPOND-A project, which operates under the European Program HORIZON 2020 from June 01, 2020, aims to develop technologies based on5G wireless communications, augmented and virtual reality or autonomous robots to optimise first responders’ work.
Thanks to RESPOND-A, first responders will have the opportunity to test these technologies and see how efficiently they can be applied within the framework of diverse disaster scenarios. With these technological advances, first responders will be able to better predict and assess the incidents and to safeguard themselves before, during and after disasters. The total budget of the project amounts to around 7.67 million euros and is covered by European funds.
