Greece has issued a new NAVTEX in response to the Turkish NAVTEX that attempts to extend the presence of the Turkish research vessel “Oruc Reis” within the limits of the Greek continental shelf until September 1.

Specifically, the Greek anti-NAVTEX was issued by the Heraklion station of the Hellenic Navy Hydrographic Service.

With the new directive, Greece informs that the Turkish NAVTEX refers to unauthorized and illegal activity within the Greek continental shelf.

In this context, the Greek NAVTEX calls on all seafarers to ignore the Turkish NAVTEX, while it points out that the Heraklion station of the Hellenic Navy is responsible for issuing a NAVTEX for this area.
